Could you build this?

Partial The UI and packaging are easy, but reliable recovery needs low-level disk access and filesystem or file-carving logic across FAT, exFAT and NTFS, which vibe coding does not handle well without systems expertise.

What it would actually take: A real version would be a native macOS app (Swift, with privileged raw block-device reads) that carves files by signature across the card's filesystems. Existing open-source engines such as PhotoRec or libraries like TestDisk can be wrapped or ported, which reduces risk. The hard part is correct, safe, read-only recovery across many camera and card formats, which needs filesystem internals and testing against real corrupted media.
