Read the full description

Wired it wrong? WireWhy is a free electrical wiring simulator in your browser. Wire breakers, GFCIs, switches, outlets, relays and motors like a real installation, then switch it on or break something. It calculates the current in every wire and shows you why the breaker tripped or the light stayed dark, and the path the fault current took. Measure like an electrician, practise on exercises that check your circuit, or build your own for a class. 120/240 V or 230/400 V. No account needed.

Could you build this?

Partial The drag-and-drop UI and browser-based circuit simulation are buildable with AI help, but realistic breaker, GFCI and motor behavior with correct current calculations requires electrical engineering knowledge to model accurately.

What it would actually take: Use a canvas or SVG front end with a netlist-style circuit model and a solver for current and voltage, plus component models for breakers, GFCIs, relays and motors. The hard part is modeling trip curves, fault conditions and code-correct behavior, which needs an electrical engineer to validate the physics and safety logic.
