What it would actually take: A minimal version can wrap xterm.js in an Electron or Tauri shell with node-pty or a Rust PTY crate. A high-performance native version needs VT/ANSI parser correctness, a GPU text renderer, font shaping, and cross-platform PTY and input handling. Those systems-programming skills are the hard part.
