No Building an ultra-low-overhead macOS native desktop overlay app that tracks display state, detects active fullscreen/call status, and renders an animated interactive companion requires deep native macOS/Swift/AppKit engineering.
What it would actually take: A native Swift/AppKit application must tap into CoreGraphics window management, AVFoundation, and CoreAudio APIs to reliably detect active video/voice calls and fullscreen spaces without high resource draw. It requires optimizing render loops with Metal or SpriteKit to keep CPU under 0.12%, plus setting up licensing and Apple Developer notarization pipelines.
