Description
Hi HN! I built JulIDE - a lightweight Julia IDE using Tauri and Rust. Features: 10MB install (vs VSCode's 300MB) Full LSP, debugger, Git integration Built-in dev containers with X11 forwarding Tauri/Rust backend, React frontend Monaco based editor It's beta but functional. Built this for fun and to solve a real need in the Julia community. Tech stack: Tauri 2, Rust, React, Monaco, LanguageServer.jl GitHub: https://github.com/sinisterMage/JulIde Would love feedback!

Could you build this?
No Building an IDE with debugging capabilities, dev containers, and custom language tooling requires deep knowledge of LSP, the Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP), and virtualization internals.
What it would actually take: The architecture requires Tauri/Rust interfacing with Monaco via Language Server Protocol (LSP) and Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP) specifically tuned for Julia's runtime, plus Docker/Podman container management with X11/Wayland display forwarding. The hard parts are seamless interactive debugging with Julia's JIT compilation model and robust cross-platform containerized GUI forwarding. This demands systems-level developer tooling and runtime debugging expertise.

Same idea, different domain
Nobody's really built a dev tools tool for Sales yet.
