AirBandScan

Scans the aviation band with an SDR, records every voice call on its own, and lets you listen, browse, and download them from a web browser. Classifies voice/non-voice signals, with live spectrum and spectrogram views. Works with RTL-SDR, HackRF, and Airspy on Windows and Linux.

Could you build this?

Partial The web UI, recording, and browsing are standard, but SDR signal processing across multiple hardware drivers and a reliable voice versus non-voice classifier require real RF and DSP expertise.

What it would actually take: The stack would combine SoapySDR or librtlsdr/HackRF/Airspy drivers, an FFT and demodulation pipeline (AM/NFM for aviation), and a web frontend with spectrogram rendering. The hard part is robust voice activity detection on squelched aviation audio, which can be approached with pretrained VAD models but needs tuning on real captures. Someone with SDR and RF signal processing experience is needed to get it reliable across hardware.
