TV Remote turns your Android phone into a remote for your smart TV. It finds TVs on the same Wi-Fi by itself and works with Samsung, LG, Sony BRAVIA, VIZIO, Android TV, Google TV and Chromecast, with no brand to pick. Press "Allow" or enter the code on the TV once and it reconnects after that. It also mirrors your phone screen, sends photos and videos to the TV, and lets you type into TV search with your phone keyboard. Free, no sign-up.

Partial The Android app and UI are straightforward, but local discovery and pairing with Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, and Google TV each rely on brand-specific, sometimes undocumented protocols that need per-brand reverse engineering and ongoing maintenance.
What it would actually take: The stack is an Android app using mDNS/SSDP discovery and each TV family's control protocol (websocket, HTTP, or Cast/ADB-style APIs), with pairing flows and reconnection storage. Open-source projects document several of these, so an AI assistant can get a working prototype for some brands. The hard part is covering and keeping up with firmware changes across many brands, which takes protocol-level testing across real devices.
