Buddy is a chat bubble that floats over your apps. Ask it to do something ("add a Switch 2 to my Amazon cart", "reply to Sam that I'm late") and an AI agent reads the screen and taps through your apps for you. It runs inside the app, with no PC, no root and no API keys: your Claude or ChatGPT plan, or OpenCode's free models. Anything that sends, posts, pays or deletes waits for your OK. Free and open source.

What it would actually take: The UI and LLM orchestration can be built with Kotlin and Android Accessibility Services, plus a model API or the user's own subscription. The hard part is a robust screen-understanding and action loop that survives app updates, dynamic layouts, and permission limits. Doing that well takes experience with mobile automation, accessibility APIs, and agent evaluation, along with testing across many apps.
