Description

very much inspired by karpathy's microgpt of the same name. it's (by default) a 4000 param GPT/LLM/NN that learns to generate names. this is sorta an educational tool in that you can visualize the activations as they pass through the network, and click on things to get an explanation of them.

Yes A browser-based visualization of a tiny micro-GPT network learning character predictions is a straightforward front-end WebGL/Canvas or React project adapted from Karpathy's minimal educational models.

Discussion

20 comments analyzed.

Competitors mentioned: LLM Visualization (bbycroft.net/llm), Karpathy's microGPT blog post

Concerns raised: Cheaper alternatives to LLM exist, Model too small to produce useful output, Unclear what output is supposed to represent, Assumes too much prior knowledge, Mobile/Android site performance issues

Feature requests: Add explainer section for loss value meaning, Remove 16-node visualization cap in sidebar, Fix matrix dimensions display for Wtok/Wpos/fc1
