Could you build this?
Partial A basic canvas editor with fabric.js can be quickly vibe-coded, but matching Canva's rich media export, complex rendering engine, font handling, and template system is substantially harder.
What it would actually take: A full Canva alternative relies on WebGL/Canvas rendering libraries (like Fabric.js, Konva, or Pixi.js), complex vector layout algorithms, SVG sanitization, and serverless headless Chrome or Rust-based rendering for high-resolution PDF/image export. The hard parts are maintaining performant state across thousands of nested canvas nodes, cross-browser typography rendering, and asset pipeline optimization. Specialized frontend graphics and canvas performance engineering are required.
