Could you build this?
Partial While the menu bar UI is easy to build, creating a macOS virtual camera requires writing a CoreMediaIO DAL plugin or CMIOExtension in Swift/Objective-C with strict system entitlements.
What it would actually take: A production version requires a native Swift macOS app bundling a CoreMediaIO Camera Extension (CMIOExtension) signed with specific Apple Developer capabilities. The core challenge involves low-level video frame buffer manipulation via CVPixelBuffer and ensuring compatibility across meeting apps like Zoom and Google Meet without causing sandbox or permission crashes.
