Could you build this?
No Building an independent web search engine and crawling infrastructure requires massive distributed systems, continuous web crawling at scale, anti-bot handling, and petabyte-scale indexing.
What it would actually take: A true independent search infrastructure requires large distributed crawlers (e.g., Apache Nutch or custom Go/Rust workers), extensive proxy pools, custom HTML parsers, document storage, and distributed inverted indices (like Tantivy or Lucene) or vector embeddings at web scale. It requires deep expertise in distributed systems, search ranking algorithms, network operations, and substantial server infrastructure capital.
