Description
Aging at home has a visibility problem. Small changes in health and routine can go unnoticed for weeks or months, until the first obvious sign is something serious. Rhem is a tabletop robot that helps families see those changes earlier, while giving parents the everyday support they need to stay independent longer. Rhem was designed first for aging parents, but anyone can use it as an extra set of eyes and everyday help at home.

Could you build this?
No Building physical tabletop eldercare robotics involves custom hardware design, embedded systems, sensory edge computing, and strict reliability and privacy requirements.
What it would actually take: This requires electrical and mechanical engineering for custom robotic hardware, embedded firmware (RTOS / ROS2), camera/sensor fusion, and privacy-preserving local computer vision models to detect health anomalies and routine deviations. It also demands medical device compliance, hardware supply chain management, and long-term hardware reliability testing.
