Description

NASSCAD is a browser-based parametric 3D CAD application that processes models locally. Model in 3D, sketch in 2D, import/export STEP and IFC, and prepare designs for 3D printing. Version 4.7.0 brings MEDUSA, a native local engine for boolean operations, alongside B-Rep fillets and chamfers, 18 parametric primitives and NassScript. No account or cloud backend required. Free for personal, non-commercial and educational use under the project license.

Could you build this?

No Parametric 3D CAD modeling with custom local geometric kernels for B-Rep boolean operations, fillets, and STEP/IFC parsing requires deep computational geometry and C++/Wasm graphics expertise.

What it would actually take: Building a parametric CAD tool requires compiling computational geometry kernels (like Open CASCADE or custom B-Rep topological engines) to WebAssembly alongside WebGL/WebGPU renderers. The core difficulty is implementing robust topological naming, non-manifold geometry resolution, and STEP/IFC format parsers without numerical instability. This requires dedicated computational geometry specialists and systems engineers.
