Description

Most S3 usage is PUT, GET, DELETE, LIST with basic auth. This does exactly that.SigV4 auth, multipart uploads, range requests. Storage is just files on disk.No versioning, no ACLs, no encryption. Use MinIO or AWS if you need those.

Could you build this?

No Implementing a zero-dependency S3-compatible HTTP server with AWS SigV4 authentication, XML payload parsing, and multipart chunking in Zig requires deep systems and low-level cryptographic protocol implementation.

What it would actually take: The stack involves Zig with manual memory management and low-level POSIX sockets/HTTP server handling. The core challenge is implementing cryptographic primitives (HMAC-SHA256, hex encoding) to correctly evaluate complex AWS Signature Version 4 authentication, alongside custom XML parsers for bucket responses and handling multipart streaming chunk uploads to disk without external libraries. It requires seasoned systems programmers experienced with manual memory allocation and strict wire protocols.
