Description

I've written Atlas, a GPU scripting language that eliminates the boilerplate of managing textures and uniforms. Here are some demos including 4D fractal exploration with gamepad controls. Press 7 to see the Julia set, and try reloading if you see rectangles/it glitches. Documentation: https://banditcat.github.io/Atlas/index.html *requires approximately an RTX 3080.

Could you build this?

No The author created Atlas, a custom GPU domain-specific programming language and WebAssembly runtime, which requires deep expertise in compiler engineering and graphics math.

What it would actually take: Building this requires developing a compiler pipeline (lexer, parser, code generator) targeting WGSL/SPIR-V or WebGL shader uniforms, integrated into an Emscripten/Wasm C++ host environment. It also requires advanced mathematical knowledge of 4D quaternion geometry and raymarching algorithms optimized for real-time GPU rendering.

Competitors

Other products that read as similar to this one — 31 launches clear the similarity bar, closest 8 shown.

Attention rank: #16 of 32 (itself plus its competitors, highest first — normalized so YC and Product Hunt are compared fairly).

Looks like the first mover among its competitors.

Same idea, different domain

Nobody's really built a hardware & robotics tool for Horizontal yet.
