Description

I know the effect makes more sense on the iPhone Duo because of the dual screen, but I wanted something similar on the MacBook: the lid looks like a portal to the real screen. The only app I found that does this charges for it, so it felt like a good thing to ask Astra to build, and I made it OSS. Visual improvements or feature ideas are welcome.

Yes It is a decorative macOS utility or frontend effect creating an optical illusion on laptop lids, explicitly built with an AI assistant.

Discussion

Competitors mentioned: iPhone Duo folding effect

Concerns raised: Effect doesn't work reliably on laptops due to unknown final screen position, Animation doesn't render correctly on Firefox/Android, only shows static image, Visual accuracy issues - screen appears to skew/stand up rather than move around like on iPhone Duo, Unclear practical appeal or use case for MacBook compared to original Duo design, Unclear how app can hijack macOS login screen as shown in demo

Feature requests: Improve cross-browser compatibility (Firefox support)
