Description

Hello HN. I’ve been using Claude to summarize stock news and some basic analysis for some time now, but results were only ever based off of web searches so I never really anything insanely useful out of it.The big breakthrough came when I properly acquired my 90+ datasets (worth over $50,000), and connected it to my data analysis agent harness to do my investment research. What it does: ask anything across the NYSE/NASDAQ, schedule agents to alert me on market or price changes, intrinsic value calculations, and investment research (pull from news or historical and current earnings, fundamentals, or holdings/insider/politician trades).Just launched on Product Hunt too, and if this was interesting at all, would appreciate an upvote.Questions and feature requests welcome. Really excited about this and appreciate any feedback from yall.

Could you build this?

No The software value proposition depends on acquiring and structuring tens of thousands of dollars of proprietary licensed financial market data feeds that cannot be vibe-coded.

What it would actually take: Building this requires enterprise licensing agreements for proprietary financial datasets (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, SEC Edgar feeds, institutional order flow, tick data). The technical stack involves high-throughput time-series databases (TimescaleDB/ClickHouse), complex ETL data normalization pipelines, and embedding models or semantic SQL generators trained on financial schemas. The barrier is primarily capital expenditure for institutional data licensing and domain knowledge in financial quantitative metrics.

Discussion

9 comments analyzed.

Competitors mentioned: bigdata.com - research/data aggregation platform

Concerns raised: Analysis output too generic without user context, Analysis takes too long to run, Limited insight for ETFs vs individual tickers, Unclear target audience (casual investors vs professionals)

Feature requests: Portfolio management and analysis features, User goal/risk profile customization via intake interview, Customized analysis output for different investor types, Portfolio integrations for fund managers
