Description

Inspired by TidalCycles, Strudel, UltimateSound Tracker. Lisp shaped DSL for making music. Has a bunch of synths. Samples don't work in web version. Try it out! Help section has placeable blocks to get started easily. There's also a language reference in the top left menu.

Could you build this?

Partial Building a simple UI with a code editor is easy, but implementing a custom Lisp-like domain-specific language parser, interpreter, and real-time Web Audio software synthesizers is non-trivial.

What it would actually take: The stack uses JavaScript/TypeScript with an AST parser/evaluator for the Lisp dialect coupled to the Web Audio API or custom AudioWorklet nodes. The hard part is scheduling precise musical timing and implementing sound synthesis (oscillators, envelopes, filters, and polyphony) in real time without audio glitches. This requires knowledge of programming language implementation (compilers/interpreters) and digital signal processing (DSP).
