Description

DeepZero turns vulnerability research into repeatable YAML pipelines: ingest samples, filter, decompile with Ghidra, scan with Semgrep, and optionally assess results with LLMs. It preserves per-sample state so interrupted runs can resume. MIT-licensed and extensible in Python, with HTML reports and a harmless demo that needs no model API key. The maintainer reports using it to discover public Windows driver findings, with Claude used separately for reproduction.

Could you build this?

No Automating binary vulnerability research on Windows kernel drivers requires deep reverse engineering, binary analysis expertise, and specialized integration with headless Ghidra and custom Semgrep rules.

What it would actually take: This requires deep systems programming and security research expertise in Windows kernel internals, PE file structures, and driver vulnerability patterns (e.g., arbitrary read/write, insecure IOCTL handlers). The system needs a headless Ghidra orchestration pipeline (PyGhidra/Ghidra headless analyzer) capable of automated decompiler analysis, type propagation, and AST generation, paired with custom Semgrep/CodeQL semantic rules written specifically to trace untrusted user-mode buffers into kernel space.
